Barn Dog is Martha and Michael's Black Labrador Retriever. He got his unusual name when Michael told Martha, "If you buy that dog he's going to live in the barn." Needless to say, he sleeps in their bedroom. The "Dot Com" was added to his name when B.D. requested something with a little more sophistication.

Barn Dog was trained by Jim Crosby of Backcast Kennels. Jim's wife, Paula, refers to B.D. as a "momster." Barn Dog competed in hunt tests throughout the southeast until he was affected by epilepsy. Dr. Skip Hightman of Brentwood Animal Clinic keeps his illness under control through the use of traditional Chinese veterinary medicine (herbs, acupuncture and diet).

Now six, Barn Dog has only slightly slowed his manic pace. He loves hanging around the barn, riding on the ATV with Michael and retrieving bumpers from the pond. He also has become a frisbee fanatic.
